O Allah! Put distance between me and my sins as You have put distance between the east and the west. O Allah! Cleanse me of my sins as a white garment is cleansed of dirt. O Allah, wash away my sins with water, snow and hail.
Sahih al-Bukhari, no. (744), the wording is his, Sahih Muslim, no. (598), Sunan Abi Dawud, no. (781), Sunan an-Nasa'i, no. (60), Sunan Ibn Majah, no. (805). The original book gave the wording of Muslim, but we have given the wording of al-Bukhari.
Sahih Mawquf, Musannaf Ibn Abi Shaybah, ed. ash-Shathri, no. (2408)
This narration is established only as mawquf from some Companions such as Umar (RA). Several narrations present it as marfu', attributed to the Prophet of Allah ﷺ, and Allamah al-Albani (RH) even graded it Sahih as marfu', but the marfu' narrations are all munkar, and munkar narrations do not strengthen one another. Imam Ibn Khuzaymah (RH) (died 311) says:
[Sahih Ibn Khuzaymah (1/237- 239)]
“As for what the common people in Khurasan say at the start of the prayer: “سبحانك اللهم و بحمدك---الخ”, we know of no established, authentic hadith on this from the Prophet ﷺ according to the scholars of hadith. Since it is established as mawquf from Umar al-Faruq (RA), I do not call it disliked; however, the hadith of the Prophet ﷺ narrated with an authentic, connected chain from Ali (RA), Abu Hurairah (RA) and others is dearer to me and better to recite, because following the Prophet ﷺ is superior and his way is better than the way of others”
I have turned my face, inclining to truth, towards the One who created the heavens and the earth, and I am not of the polytheists. Indeed, my prayer, my sacrifice, my living and my dying are for Allah, Lord of the worlds; He has no partner, this is what I have been commanded, and I am of those who submit to Allah. O Allah! You are the King; there is no deity except You. You are my Lord and I am Your servant. I have wronged myself and I confess my sins, so forgive all my sins, for indeed none forgives sins except You. Guide me to the best of manners; none guides to the best of them except You. And turn away from me bad manners; none can turn them away from me except You. Here I am at Your service, ready to obey; all good is in Your hands, and evil cannot be attributed to You. I exist by You and turn to You. You are most blessed and most exalted. I seek Your forgiveness and turn to You in repentance.
O Allah! Lord of Jibra'il, Mika'il and Israfil! Creator of the heavens and the earth! Knower of the unseen and the seen! You judge between Your servants in that in which they used to differ. Guide me by Your permission to the truth in that in which there has been difference. Indeed, You guide whom You will to a straight path.
Sahih Muslim, no. (770), the wording is his, Sunan Abi Dawud, no. (767), Sunan at-Tirmidhi, no. (3420), Sunan an-Nasa'i (1625), Sunan Ibn Majah, no. (1357).
Sahih Muslim, no. (601). Here the original book gives these words with a further addition on the authority of Sunan Abi Dawud, no. (764) and others, but Allamah al-Albani (RH) graded the narration with that wording Da'eef [Da'if Abi Dawud, no. (132)], so it is better to recite these words of Sahih Muslim.
O Allah! To You belongs all praise; You are the light of the heavens and the earth and (of all) that is in them. To You belongs all praise; You are the sustainer of the heavens and the earth and all that is in them. To You belongs all praise; You are the Lord of the heavens and the earth and of what is in them. To You belongs all praise; Yours is the dominion of the heavens and the earth and what is in them. To You belongs praise; You are the King of the heavens and the earth, and to You belongs all praise. You are the Truth, Your promise is true, Your word is true, the meeting with You is true, Paradise is true, the Fire is true, the prophets are true, Muhammad ﷺ is true, and the Hour is true. O Allah! To You I have submitted, in You I have put my trust, in You I have believed, and to You I have turned. By Your help I have disputed (with Your enemies), and to You I have brought my case for judgement. So forgive me what I have done before and what I have done after, what I have done in secret and what I have done openly, and what You know better than I do. You are the One who brings forward (each thing to its place) and You are the One who puts back (from it); there is no deity except You. You are my God; there is no deity except You. And there is no strength to avoid sin nor power to do good except through the help and enabling of Allah.
