  1. Da'eef, Sunan Abi Dawud, no. (850), the wording is his, Sunan at-Tirmidhi, no. (284), and the first addition is in his narration; Habib narrated it with 'an and he is a mudallis; Sunan Ibn Majah (898), and the second addition is in his narration; and al-Albani graded it Hasan in “Sahih Abi Dawud” (3/436) no. (796).

    In a hadith of Sahih Ibn Khuzaymah and others, men and women would come to the Prophet ﷺ and say: يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ، كَيْفَ أَقُولُ إِذَا صَلَّيْتُ؟ “O Messenger of Allah ﷺ: when I pray, how should I say (in supplication)?” He ﷺ said: Say: “اَللّٰهُمَّ اغْفِرْ لِيْ، وَارْحَمْنِيْ، وَاهْدِنِيْ، وَعَافِنِيْ، وَارْزُقْنِيْ”

This hadith is sahih; see: Sahih Ibn Khuzaymah, no. (744). A hadith with the same meaning is also in Sahih Muslim; see: Sahih Muslim (4/2073) no. (2697), Darussalam numbering (6850). This hadith shows in general that this supplication may be said in the prayer, so in view of this general meaning, if someone says it between the two prostrations as well, there is no harm, in sha' Allah. Allah knows best.
