Supplication when getting onto a mount

Dua 1

With the name of Allah. All praise is for Allah. Exalted is He who has subjected this (mount) to us, and we could not have [otherwise] subdued it. And indeed we, to our Lord, will [surely] return. All praise is for Allah. All praise is for Allah. All praise is for Allah. Allah is the Greatest. Allah is the Greatest. Allah is the Greatest. Glory be to You! Indeed, I have wronged myself, so forgive me, for none forgives sins except You.

The reciter says “Subhaanakal-laahumma innee zalamtu nafsee”, adding “Allaahumma”.

  1. 1

Both verses in the brackets are from Surah az-Zukhruf, no. (43), verses (13, 14).

  2. 2

Sahih, Sunan Abi Dawud, no. (2602), the wording is his, Sunan at-Tirmidhi, no. (3446), al-Muntakhab min Musnad Abd bin Humayd, no. (88), al-Mustadrak of al-Hakim, Indian edition (2/98), and al-Albani graded it Sahih in “Sahih Abi Dawud” (7/54) no. (2342).

The author's book has “اَللّٰهُمَّ” after “سُبْحَانَكَ”, but even after much searching no trace of it could be found in any route of this hadith, so we have removed it and given the words of Sunan Abi Dawud.
