What to do after a good or bad dream, or on waking suddenly?

Spit to your left three times

If you see a bad dream, seek refuge in Allah three times from Satan and from the evil of that dream

1. Sahih Muslim, no. (2262), Sunan Abi Dawud, no. (5022), Sunan Ibn Majah, no. (3908), from the hadith of Jabir, as-Sunan al-Kubra of an-Nasa'i, no. (10664), from the hadith of Abu Qatadah.

Do not tell that dream to anyone except people you love

1. Sahih Muslim, no. (2263), as-Sunan al-Kubra of an-Nasa'i, no. (10672), Sunan Abi Dawud, no. (5019), Sunan at-Tirmidhi, no. (2270).

Turn over from the side you were lying on

1. Sahih Muslim, no. (2262), Sunan Abi Dawud, no. (5022), Sunan Ibn Majah no. (3908), as-Sunan al-Kubra of an-Nasa'i, no. (7606).

“If you wish, get up and pray.”
