Dua 3
اَللّٰهُمَّ اجْعَلْهُ لَنَا فَرَطًا وَّسَلَفًا وَّذُخْرًا
O Allah! Make him for us a forerunner, one who has gone ahead, and a treasure for the Hereafter.
The reciter says “wa ajran” (and a reward) instead of “wa dhukhran” (and a treasure).
Hasan Mawquf, as-Sunan al-Kubra of al-Bayhaqi, Indian edition (4/9), and al-Albani graded it Hasan in “Ahkam al-Jana'iz” (page 161).
This is narrated from Abu Hurairah (RA) as mawquf. Here the author quoted the practice of al-Hasan al-Basri (RH) with the words “ اَللّٰهُمَّ اجْعَلْهُ لَنَا فَرَطاً وَّسَلَفاً وَّاَجْرًا”. Its chain is also sahih; see: [ad-Du'a' of at-Tabarani, ed. Muhammad Sa'id, no. (1203), Sahih al-Bukhari, mu'allaq (2/89), before hadith (1335), the wording is theirs, Musannaf Ibn Abi Shaybah, ed. ash-Shathri, no. (31826), Taghliq at-Ta'liq of Ibn Hajar (2/484)].
Some called it weak because of the 'an'anah of Sa'id and his teacher Qatadah in the chain of Taghliq at-Ta'liq, but these two narrators are not in the narration of at-Tabarani and Ibn Abi Shaybah; that is, several other trustworthy narrators support Qatadah, so calling this narration weak is completely wrong.
