Dua 1
سُبْحَانَ الَّذِيْ ﴿يُسَبِّحُ الرَّعْدُ بِحَمْدِهٖ وَالْمَلَآئِكَةُ مِنْ خِيْفَتِهٖ﴾
Glory be to the One whom the thunder exalts with praise of Him, and the angels [as well] from fear of Him.
Sahih Mawquf, Muwatta' Malik, narration of Abu Mus'ab az-Zuhri, (2/171) no. (2094), al-Muwatta' bi-Riwayatihi ath-Thamaniyah, ed. al-Hilali (4/525), al-Adab al-Mufrad of al-Bukhari, ed. Abd al-Baqi, no. (723), and al-Albani graded it Sahih in “Takhrij al-Kalim at-Tayyib” no. (156)
This is a mawquf narration of Abdullah bin az-Zubayr (RA). It says that when Abdullah bin az-Zubayr (RA) heard thunder, he would stop talking and say these words, and then say: This is a severe warning for the people of the earth. Note that in these words, everything after “سُبْحَانَ الَّذِيْ” is from verse (13) of Surah ar-Ra'd (13) of the Quran.
Caution:- In Muwatta' Malik, narration of Yahya, the name “Abdullah bin az-Zubayr (RA)” has dropped out, whereas in the other versions of the Muwatta', and likewise in this narration as reported in other books through the route of Imam Malik, the name is present.
